Dolphin Encounter and Tabyana Beach Party, full day:
Have you ever dreamed of meeting a dolphin face to face? It's possible at
Rotan's Institute for Marine Science. Upon arrival to the facility, you take
a short boat ride to Bailey's Key-home to resident bottlenose dolphins. You
will be briefed by the faculty and then your experience of a lifetime
begins. In small groups, you enter into waist-deep water of the surrounding
ocean where your trainer and dolphin await you. You will be introduced to a
dolphin and learn about its physiology, while touching and stroking the

This tour gives you an overview of Lima and lets you explore Plaza Mayor,

Begin with a visit to La Herradura Bay, a former fishing town and subject of

region: Elqui Valley, where the city of Vicuna is located. The quality of

Passing through the center of the city, you'll see its typical square and
cathedral that is the region's oldest building. We will first stop at an
observation point for magnificent views of the city, Tenglo Island and the
Tenglo Channel. Then it's on to Puerto Varas, "The City of Roses," which
overlooks Lago Llanquihue (Chile's second largest lake) with reflections of
the eternally snowcovered volcanoes Osorno and Calbuco mirrored in clear

Petrohue Waterfalls, 8 hours:
From Puerto Varas, we will drive along Lago Llanquihue and pass through the
village of Ensenada. With each mile, the scenery will further enthrall you:
lush green countryside, ox plowed fields and weather-beaten clapboard barns
and churches. At Lake Todo's los Santos, we take a 45-minute stroll.
Continuing to Petrohue Falls, you'll see a gleaming succession of blue
rapids against a backdrop of mountains, including nearby Osorno Volcano.
Here, we have approximately 30 minutes to walk the pathways and trails,
taking in gorgeous views of the rapids, waterfalls, mountains andwilderness.
We will drive to Puerto Varas for lunch at a quaint local inn and have time
to discover the town and its handicraft market. Driving back to Puerto Montt,
you'll see some of the city's most notable landmarks such as the main square
with its neo-classical cathedral adorned with three imposing towers. A brief
stop will be made at the Angelmo Handicraft Market for souvenirs and the
option to walk back to the pier. Please note: It is imperative to wear warm,

Photo Safari to Osorno Volcano, 8.5 hours:
In an area dotted by lakes, woods and volcanoes, the Osorno Volcano can be
seen from as far away as 20 miles south of Puerto Montt and 150 miles north
of the town of Osorno. You'll visit Puerto Varas, "The City of Roses," at
Lago Llanquihue and skirt the southern shores of the lake en route to the
village of Ensenada along the wild Petrohue River Rapids-a symphony of
sound, color and nature-before taking the bumpy rough road to Osorno

Alerce Forest and the Settlers Museum, 5 hours:
Depart from the port to the Lahuen Nadi Forest-the last stand of ancient
alerce trees in the Lake District's central valley. The National Forest
Corporation, Conaf, protects the ecosystem and promotes ecotourism in
Chile's national parks, including this 200- hectare "giant-tree" forest. The
alerce tree, with a life span of 3,000 years and native to southern Chile,
was declared a National Heritage in 1976 so it is now illegal to harvest or
destroy them. You will explore the beautiful landscape of Lahuen Nadi Park
on a one-hour eco walk. Afterwards, we'll drive to Nuave Braunau to visit
the Colonization Museum, located in an old farm barn with a private
collection of settlers' items-some never seen by the public. Completing this
tour, you'll visit Puerto Varas, "the City of Roses," where you'll have time
to stroll the main square and browse handicrafts. Then, there's a brief stop
at the Angelmo Handicraft Market for passengers who wish to purchase
souvenirs and walk back to the pier. Please note: It is imperative to wear

Aiken Park, 4 hours:
A truly magnificent tour where you will be able to trek surrounded by safe,
native woods. This park has a good infrastructure and there are small signs

Skirting the Simpson River, 4.5 hours:
After visiting the small town of Aysen, the tour continues to the Simpson

Penguin Colony at Otway Sound, 4.5 hours:
The shy and charming Magellan penguins return to this spot (about 37 miles
north of Punta Arenas), every year between October and March to lay their
eggs and raise their young. Once at the site, there is a walk of
approximately 1.25 miles to the center of the natural reserve, teeming with
penguin burrows. From close range, you can watch the comic antics of these

Ecological Circuit of the Magellan Forest Reserve, 4 hours:
The Magellan Forest Reserve is located about five miles west of Punta
Arenas. As this park has a suitable path for trekking, you can admire the
