Dog sledding–Tromsø:
An opportunity to experience the exhilaration felt
by the Arctic explorers of old on this dramatic ride
by dogsled across the open plains of Tromsø. At the
end of the trip, a warm meal will be served in a
lavvo (traditional Sami tent).
Arctic Gourmet Dinner–Tromsø:
Emma's Dream Kitchen is a renowned and romantic
restaurant. Enjoy a five-course Arctic gourmet
dinner, including an aperitif in a cozy and very
relaxed atmosphere.
Polaria and Brewery Walking Tour–Tromsø:
A local guide picks you up from the hotel and
introduces you to the interesting history of the
Arctic capital and the Polaria Museum, before you
enjoy a private tour of the famous Mack brewery and
a cold taste of it in Troms's oldest pub, Øl-hallen.
Alesund Walking Tour:
Make the most of your time in this picturesque town,
which stands at the entrance to four fjords,
including the famous Geirangerfjord, with a guide to
make sure you see all of the highlights.
Trondheim Sightseeing:
This tour of Trondheim and its outskirts visits the
famous medieval Nidaros Cathedral and passes
Stiftsgarden Palace, one of Scandinavia's most
impressive wooden buildings.
SPECIAL OCCASIONS (for the
Northern Lights Bergen to Tromsø Voyage)
Christmas:
If you travel on 21 or 22
December, you will be on board the ship to celebrate
a traditional Norwegian Christmas with Christmas
dinner and carol singing.
Note that our 21 December departure includes a
Christmas meal and drink in Tromso. The voyage part
of our 22 December departure is planned on a
full-board basis.
New Year' Day:
If you travel aboard the MS
Richard With on 29 December or MS Trollfjord on 30
December, you can take part in the New Year
celebrations on board. The ships usually stay in
port for New Year festivities and fireworks, and
some local entertainment may be arranged.
Valentine's Day:
Depart 11 or 14 February 2008
and spend Valentine's Day in Norway. If you choose
the extended itinerary, you can also enjoy a
dogsledding excursion in Tromso or an Arctic gourmet
dinner (both optional).
