Scandinavia covers several countries, and Five Stars of Scandinavia offers tours of each.
If you are looking for an escorted tour of Scandinavia, look no further.
One of the most popular of these tours is the
15-day Viking Capitals & Fjords of Norway,
highlighting the
Nordic Capitals. There are times to explore the towns and cities, short cruises between the areas, and beautiful waterfalls, fjords, mountains and glaciers are featured along the way. There is more information on this experience on the Escorted Tour page.
Trips to the other areas of Scandinavia can be found on the Escorted Tour and the Semi-Escorted pages.
We also offer many tours of Russia and adventure travel tours.
Five Stars of Scandinavia offers both fully escorted and semi-escorted tour packages to Finland. Visit historical towns and villages, castles and cathedrals, and view breathtaking forests, seascapes and lakes. Find all of these in the Programs pages, and read the details of these tours. Go to our Contact page with any questions you may have before reserving your escorted tour of Scandinavia.
Lakes and rivers in Finland
Finland is a small country that boasts some of the most beautiful scenery, lakes and rivers in Europe. In the warmer summer months boating and swimming are popular sports among the locals, but in the winter the waters freeze and the scenery becomes a giant Christmas card. Skiing and ice skating become the outdoor sports. And if you are wondering just how many bodies of water (or ice) can be found in Finland, there are somewhere in the neighborhood of 187,000 lakes. Reserve one of the tour packages to Finland and count them for yourself!
Stay healthy during your vacation
As baby-boomers are reaching retirement age more and more people are choosing an escorted tour of Scandinavia. It is important that a person maintain the best health possible when traveling and there are some simple guidelines that will help ensure this.
Make sure that you travel with an adequate amount of anything you need to maintain your health. This includes prescription as well over-the-counter drugs, hearing devices, glasses, or contacts.
It's important for your vaccinations to be current. For people of retirement age a pneumonia shot and annual flu shot are recommended, though not required. There are no specific vaccinations required for travel to any of the Scandinavian countries.
