 World Heritage Sites, the peninsula dividing the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. Visit the Neringa National Park,

Arrival in Riga. Individual transfer to your hotel (not included). Check-in at the hotel. 7:00 p.m. welcome meeting at the hotel with tour guide.

Day 2 Tue RIGA - PÄRNU - TALLINN (B)
9:00 a.m. departure for Tallinn with a stop in Pärnu, Estonia “Summer Capital”. This little town has been known as a summer health resort since the first spa opened here in the 1830s. Further drive to Tallinn. Arrival in Tallinn, check-in at the hotel. (300 km)

Day 3 Wed TALLINN (B, L)
Morning city tour of Tallinn, visiting the Old Town of Tallinn - an example of Gothic architecture in the Baltic and Nordic countries. The tour includes Toompea Castle fortifications, the Dome Church (13th century), the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of Alexander Nevsky (19th century), Town Hall Square (15th century), the Old Guild, St.Olaf’s Church. Lunch at the restaurant in the city center. Afternoon excursion to Kadriog Park and visit to Kadriorg Palace.

Day 4 Thu TALLINN - TARTU - SIGULDA (B)
9:00 a.m. departure for Sigulda. Stopover in Tartu, the second largest town in Estonia. 12:00 a.m. a city tour of Tartu, including Tartu University, Toome Hill Park with its monuments, sculptures, bridges and ruins of gothic church, panoramic view of the town with Jaani Church and Town Hall Square. A further drive to Sigulda (Latvia). Short stop in a small ancient town of Cesis for a walk in Castle Park. Arrival in Sigulda, check-in at the hotel. (380 km)

Day 5 Fri  SIGULDA - VILNIUS (B)
After breakfast short walk in Gauja National Park, including visit to Turaida Castle and the ruins of the 13th century Crusader Castle in Sigulda. A further drive to Vilnius. Arrival in Vilnius, check-in at the hotel. (350 km)

Day 6 Sat VILNIUS - TRAKAI - VILNIUS (B, L)
9:00 a.m. a city tour of Vilnius, capital of Lithuania for more than 600 years. The tour includes: St.Peter and Paul’s Church, Gediminas castle, Cathedral Square, St.Ann and Bernardines’ Church, the Gates of Dawn with a holy image of the Virgin Mary, Russian Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit, Town Hall Square and Vilnius University (founded in 1579) with St. John’s Church. Lunch at the restaurant in the city center. Afternoon trip to Trakai (25 km from Vilnius), the former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Visit to the insular castle of the 14th century, erected on a small island in the lake Galve. 6.00 p.m. return to Vilnius. (50 km)

Day 7 Sun VILNIUS - DRUSKININKAI (B, D)
Leisure time in Vilnius. 12:00 p.m. departure for Druskininkai. Stop in Grutas village for a visit to Grutas Park an open-air exhibition of the Soviet era sculptures and monuments. Arrival in Druskininkai, check-in at the hotel. City tour of Druskininkai, the oldest health resort in Lithuania. The pride of the town is its mineral springs. In 1794 the king of Poland and Lithuania announced a decree officially designating Druskininkai as a health resort. Dinner at the hotel. (130 km)

Day 8 Mon DRUSKININKAI - KAUNAS (B)
Morning at leisure in Druskininkai. Try mineral bath or massage to revitalize mind, body and spirit at Druskininkai SPA center (not included). 11:30 a.m. departure for Kaunas - former temporary capital of Lithuania. Arrival and check-in at the hotel. Afternoon city tour of Kaunas, second largest city of Lithuania, including ruins of the Castle, Town Hall Square with its impressive monument. Visit the Cathedral, walk along the old town with original old architecture and pedestrian Laisvės avenue, now housing cozy cafes, bars and souvenir shops. The tour continues to the Pazaislis church and monastery, outstanding gems of the Baroque style in the entire region of Eastern Europe. (120 km)

Day 9 Tue KAUNAS - JUODKRANTE - NIDA (B)
Morning departure for Nida. Ferry trip to the Curonian Spit. Drive to Kopgalis, visit to Sea museum- located in a 19th century fortress, it comprises exhibitions of marine nature and history of navigation. Tour in the Neringa National Park on the Curonian Spit separating the Baltic Sea from the Curonian Lagoon is an unforgettable trip to the beautiful wild nature with sand dunes, pine forests and golden beaches. Arrival to Juodkrante. Lunch at the restaurant. Visit the Hill of Witches which houses a hundred fanciful and folksy wooden sculptures scattered along a forest path. Further drive to Nida with short stops at a cormorant and heron colony and at “Dead” sand dunes. Evening arrival to Nida. Check-in at the hotel.(260 km)

10:00 combined coach and walking tour of Nida resort, including the Fisherman’s House, famous German writer Thomas Mann’s House, Amber Gallery, old ethnographic cemetery, neo-gothic church and a walk along impressive sand dunes.

Curonian Spit, Classical Baltic Plus tour


Day 11 Thu NIDA

Leisure time. Nida is an old fishing village on the Curonian Spit washed by the Baltic Sea from one side and the Curonian Lagoon from the other side. Today Nida is the largest settlement of the town of Neringa and one of the most beautiful resorts in Lithuania. The ancient fishermen’s architecture is distinguished by its originality. One can choose from a variety of activities such as water sports and cycling.

Day 12 Fri NIDA - MINIJA - VENTE - KLAIPEDA

11:00 a.m. departure by boat from Nida to the Nemunas River Delta Regional Park.
En route stop in Uostadvaris. Visit of the lighthouse built in 1876 and the oldest water lifting station in Lithuania, nowadays a Polder museum. Continue to Kintai settlement passing the Minija village called the Lithuanian Venice, where the River Minija serves as the main street. Lunch at the restaurant at Kintai, tasting of local fish dishes.
3:00 p.m. departure by coach to the Vente Horn. Visit of the ornithological station and the 19th century lighthouse. 5.30 p.m. arrival in Klaipeda. Check-in at the hotel. (70 km)

Day 13 Sat KLAIPEDA - PALANGA - KLAIPEDA

Morning city tour of Klaipeda, the main seaport of Lithuania, including Theatre Square and Old Town.
11:30 a.m. departure to Palanga, the biggest seaside resort of Lithuania. City tour including the visit to the Botanical Garden and Amber Museum in the Palace of Count Tyszkiewicz, with over 25000 pieces of amber and 15000 inclusions of insects on display. 5.30 p.m. return to Klaipeda.

Day 14 Sun KLAIPEDA - RUNDALE - RIGA

9:00 a.m. departure by coach to Riga, the capital of Latvia. Stop at the Hill of Crosses (16 km from Šiauliai), the unforgettable place with thousands of crosses on two small hills. Further drive to Riga. Stop in Rundale. Visit to Rundale Palace of the 18th century, a beautiful late baroque palace in Latvia. It is a splendid example of the early work of famous Italian architect F.B.Rastrelli. Arrival in Riga, check-in at the hotel.  (380 km)
