The Best
Western Skei Hotel is a pleasant and comfortable family-run hotel with
traditions dating back to 1889. Situated in beautiful natural surroundings
at the northern end of Lake Jølster. An excellent resort hotel and a perfect
base for exploring the nearby area with glaciers, fjords, mountains and
lakes.
After 9 months of intense building activities the new extensions of the
hotel have now been completed and we are proud of presenting a nearly "new"
hotel to our guests and many clients here in Norway and around the world.
With our central location in the region, Skei Hotel is an ideal starting
point for day trips with car or the hotel bus to some of the most
spectacular and famous tourist attractions, scenery and cultural heritage
the region can offer.
Rooms
At Skei
Hotel the 105 guestrooms are comfortable. They are all of high standard and
are equipped to meet the expectations of today. Some rooms enjoy a private
balcony with a view of the Lake Jølster, while other rooms are especially
furnished and equipped to meet the special demands of wheelchair users and
allergic travelers. Almost half of the rooms are non-smoking rooms.
On top of the existing main hotel building we have built a brand new guest
room floor with 24 comfortable, high standard guest rooms, 3 of which are
extra large and very comfortable superior rooms. All new guest rooms have
private balconies and breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.
Several new guest rooms are suitable for allergic, and most new rooms will
also have bathrooms with internationally approved adaptations for wheelchair
use. All new guest rooms are non-smoking.
Activities/special features:
During the summer season the hotel operates daily excursions with guaranteed
departures to famous tourist attractions in the region. Skei Hotel is hence
a good choice for lengthier stays as well as an excellent base for a number
of both half- and full day exciting excursions with the hotel's mini-bus or
a private car.
The following excursions with guaranteed departures are offered from May
until Sep 22 with English speaking guide:
Fjærland - the glaciers and the Norwegian Glacier Museum
Geiranger - a fjord cruise on maybe the world's most famous fjord arms
Briksdal Glacier - Norway's most famous and most visited glacier arm
Sandane - Nordfjord Folk Museum and old Gimmestad Church
Balestrand - a landmark by the Sognefjord
