Departure
from Oslo on the scenic Bergenbanen, through the
Hallingdal Valley, across snow-capped mountains of
the Hardangervidda, via Geilo to Myrdal. Ride the
famous Flåm Railway, passing wild and breathtaking
scenery as you descend into the Flåm Valley.
Continue with a spectacular cruise through the
mighty Sogne Fjord to Balestrand, and overnight at
first class and historic hotels. Cruise the
Fjærlandsfjord and visit the Norwegian Glacier
Museum and the Bøyabreen Glacier. Enjoy the cruise
through the entire Sogne Fjord, longest and deepest
fjord in the world, passing mountain cliffs,
waterfalls, and tiny fjord villages nestled along
the shores. Reach the western coast of Norway and
continue the voyage through the archipelago to the Hanseatic city of Bergen. A beautiful
excursion by rail and sea, combining a spectacular
train ride with an equally pleasurable cruise on the
"King of the Fjords".
Day 1
OSLO
Arrive Oslo. Transfer on your own to the hotel. Time
to explore the many sights, museums and highlights
of Norway's capital city. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 2 OSLO - FLÅM RAILWAY - BALESTRAND (B, D)
Breakfast at the hotel. Early morning departure on
the scenic Bergenbanen to Myrdal. Continue on the
world famous Flåm Railway to Flåm, one of the most
spectacular train journeys in the world. Short walk
to the pier for a spectacular cruise on the Sogne
Fjord from Flåm to the fjord village of Balestrand.
Dinner and overnight at one of the most scenic
resorts in Norway, the historic Kvikne's Hotel,
dating back to 1850.
Day 3 BALESTRAND - FJÆRLAND (B, D)
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. From
Balestrand to the Norwegian Glacier Museum and the
eternal ice. Cruise the Fjærlandsfjord on board the
M/F ”Fjærlandsfjord” to Fjærland, and experience one
of the most beautiful fjord arms in Norway. Visit
the Norwegian Glacier Museum and learn about the
inner life of glaciers. Continue by bus up to
Bøyabreen, an arm of the Jostedalen Glacier,
Europe's largest glacier plateau, in the Jostedalen
National Park. On your return cruise back to
Balestrand you may realize that the amazing fjords
we sail on today, have all been formed by ice.
This evening
enjoy the world famous buffet dinner and overnight.
Day 4 BALESTRAND - SOGNE FJORD CRUISE - BERGEN
(B)
After breakfast, depart for an unforgettable 4-hour
cruise on the mighty Sogne Fjord. Sail from
Balestrand through the longest and deepest fjord in
the world, out to the open sea, along the rugged
coast of western Norway and through the archipelago
surrounding the fjord capital of Bergen. Upon
arrival in Bergen, transfer on your own to the
hotel. Afternoon at leisure to explore the many
sights and museums. Overnight at your hotel, ideally
located near the waterfront.
