Day 1 KEFLAVIK - REYKJAVIK
Arrival and overnight in Reykjavik (transfer
from international airport not included).
All travel documents will
be delivered to the first hotel in Reykjavik.

Day 2 EGILSTADIR - BORGARFJÖRDUR (B)
Head over to the Reykjavik domestic airport for
a morning flight over the central highlands to
Egilsstadir, a charming village near a glacial
river. Spend the day in Egilsstaðir area, with
the possibility of exploring Hallormsstaður and
Lake Lögurinn. It is also possible to visit the
isolated fjord Borgarfjörður eystri, the
northernmost of the Eastfjords, and one of the
most beautiful and isolated fjords of the
country. (Transfer from hotel to Reykjavik
Airport are NOT included)

Day 3 EAST FJORD - HORNAFJÖRÐUR (B)
After
breakfast drive south through the spectacular
East Fjords to the town of Höfn in Hornafjörður,
a gateway to the south coast. On the way it is
possible to take a boat tour to Papey Island
where thousands of puffins nest in summer, or
visit the famous stone collection of Petra at
Stöðvarfjörður.

Day 4 VATNAJÖKULL GLACIER - SKAFTAFJELL (B)
Today's route takes you from Höfn in the south
to the Jökulsárlón Glacial Lagoon with enormous
floating icebergs. On to Skaftafell National
Park, a green oasis nestling below the great
Vatnajökull glacier, surrounded by black desert
sands. A hike in the park can be recommended.
Onwards to the picturesque village of
Kirkjubæjarklaustur.

Day 5 SOUTH COAST - VIK - SKOGAFOSS -
LANDMANNALAUGAR (B)
Drive
across the vast lava field of Eldhraun to Vík,
known for its magnificent black basalt beaches
and cliffs teeming with bird life. Go past
Dyrhólaey* a rocky headland to Skógafoss, one of
the most impressive waterfalls in the country
with Mýrdalsjökull glacier in the backdrop.
*Please note that Dyrholaey is closed during
nesting season in spring, middle May until June
23rd
Another option is to drive the beautiful
mountain track Fjallabaksleið, through
Landmannalaugar nature reserve (4WD needed,
track open from late June)

Day 6 GOLDEN CIRCLE - THINGVELLIR NATIONAL
PARK (B)
Visit
Gullfoss waterfall, the famous Geysir
geothermal area and Þingvellir National Park,
site of the ancient Icelandic parliament. The
park itself is situated in a stunning volcanic
landscape of mountains and lava flows, on the
border of Iceland’s largest lake. Continue to
Reykjavík in the afternoon.

Day 7 REYKJAVIK - DEPARTURE (B)
Morning free for own activities and sightseeing
before transfer on your own by
Flybus to the Keflavik airport.
