Day 1 KEFLAVIK - REYKJAVIK
Arrival and overnight in Reykjavik (transfer
from international airport not included).
All travel documents will
be delivered to the first hotel in Reykjavik.

Day 2 THINGVELLIR NATIONAL PARK - GULLFOSS -
SKÓGARFOSS (B)
Today's highlights are many with Þingvellir
National Park a place of great geological and
historical interest, the spectacular Gullfoss
waterfall and Geysir hot-spring area. Drive
onwards along the south shore, viewing Skógafoss
waterfall, the black beaches around Vík and
Mýrdalsjökull glacier.
Optional: Snowmobile tour on Mýrdalsjökull
glacier.

Day 3 SKAFTAFELL - GLACIAL LAGOON (B)
Drive through the village of
Kirkjubæjarklaustur, explore Skaftafell National
Park, a green oasis nestling below the great
Vatnajökull glacier and surrounded by black
desert sands. Continue to the Glacial Lagoon
Jökulsárlón and then onwards to the harbor town
Höfn.
Optional:

Day 4 EAST FJORDS (B)
Drive along the rugged varied coastline of the
East Fjords with their towering mountains and
charming fishing villages. On the way there is
an option of taking a boat tour to Papey island
where thousands of puffins nest in summer or
visit the famous stone collection of Petra at
Stöðvarfjörður.

Day 5 DETTIFOSS - TJÖRNES - HUSAVIK (B)
Travel across the Möðrudalsöræfi highlands,
renowned for their stark beauty towards
Dettifoss, Europe’s mightiest waterfall. Visit
the magnificent horseshoe-shaped canyon
Ásbyrgi. Onwards to Tjörnes peninsula and
Húsavík fishing port.
Optional: Whale watching from Húsavík.
Day 6 LAKE MÝVATN - GOÐAFOSS (B)
Explore highlights of the Lake Mývatn area, such
as the strange volcanic formations at
Dimmuborgir, the pseudo craters at Skútustaðir,
the colorful sulfurous slopes of Námaskarð and
Krafla volcano. Drive on to Goðafoss waterfall,
the town of Akureyri or Skagafjörður.

Day 7 SKAGAFJÖRDUR - GLAUMBAER - REYKJAVIK
(B)
Drive through the historical region of
Skagafjörður renowned for horse breeding. There
is the option of visiting the old farmstead of
Glaumbær, a great example of old Icelandic
architecture. Continue to the bay of Húnaflói
and across Holtavörðuheiði plateau, returning to
Reykjavík in the late afternoon. Overnight in
Reykjavik.
Another option is to travel across the barren
Kjölur highlands (4WD needed, track open from
mid-June), to the geothermal oasis at
Hveravellir and onwards to Reykjavík.

Day 8 REYKJAVIK (B)
The morning free for own activities and
sightseeing before your afternoon transfer on
your own by
Flybus
to the Keflavik airport.
