Day 1 Sat ARRIVAL IN OSLO
Arrival in Oslo, the capital of Norway, is
situated at the head of Oslo Fjord surrounded by
forested ridges, own transfer arrangements to
your hotel. Please consult the Borealis
Destination Management information bulletin at
your hotel and be in the hotel’s reception area
between 20:00 -20:30, to meet your tour escort
and receive information on the upcoming tour
program.

Day 2 Sun OSLO - ALTA

Breakfast at the Hotel. Please be in the hotel’s
reception area between 08:00-08:30, to meet your
tour escort and receive information on the
upcoming tour program. Morning at leisure until
your private coach transfer to Gardermoen
Airport for your flight (DY264 11:00 – 13:00) to
Alta, known as the “Town of the Northern
Lights”. At Alta airport you will board a
private coach for a 3 hour city tour including
entrance to the Alta Museum to see the ancient
rock carvings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The
tour ends at your hotel. Evening at leisure.
Weather permitting you might see the Northern
Lights. Dinner at hotel.

Day 3 Mon ALTA - NORTH CAPE - HONNINGSVAG

After breakfast early morning departure by
private coach from Alta, through the Norwegian
Lapland, via Honningsvåg, where we meet with the
daily convoy at the North Cape Road crossing
near Skarsvåg. We arrive at the North Cape, the
northern most tip of Europe, representing the
final frontier with the arctic sea.
Entrance is included to the North Cape Hall, the
tourist centre on the North Cape Plateau, where
we are greeted with champagne and caviar, and
receive our certificate. Enjoy a Super video
wide-screen showing films of the four seasons at
the North Cape, or the souvenir shop, post
office and information office. After our visit
we return to Honningsvåg for check-in at the
hotel. Rest of the afternoon is at leisure.

Day 4 Tue HURTIGRUTEN (B, D)
Breakfast at the hotel. Early morning departure
by coach for our journey to Hammerfest,
traveling south again, via the impressive
Porsanger fjord. On arrival in Hammerfest, the
“Northern most Town in the World”, we will visit
the Royal and Ancient Polar Bear Society,
located next door to the Hurtigruten quay. Here
you will experience life in the arctic,
including a entrance to the interactive room
where you will feel the cold of the arctic
winter and see a special screening of the
Northern Lights. At 12.15 we check-in and embark
the Hurtigruten ship for our overnight Norwegian
Coastal voyage to Svolvær. This unique voyage
also referred to as ‘The world’s most beautiful
voyage, well take us firstly to Øksjord via the
Sørøysundet strait, then across the open sea of
Lopphavet before cruising the calm waters of
Skjervøy. Dinner served on board. Just before
midnight the ship makes the last call of the day
at Tromsø, the capital of the Arctic.

Day 5 Wed
HURTIGRUTEN - SVOLVAER

Breakfast on board. Early
this morning we make a call at the small coastal
town of Harstad before continuing our
spectacular sea journey. We set course for the
island groups of Vesterålen and Lofoten,
believed to be the most beautiful part of the
journey. At 11.00 we arrive at Risøyhamn where
you check out of the cabin, while the luggage is
placed in a storage room near reception. The
ship then navigates the shallow waters of the
Risøyrenna Channel, and weather permitting the
ship will make a short detour into the
breathtaking Trollfjord, before arriving in
Svolvær at 18.30. Check-in and dinner at your
hotel.

Day 6 Thu SVOLVAER -
ORCA WHALE SAFARI

Breakfast at the hotel.
The day starts with an early morning Orca
briefing at the Lofoten Nature Centre in Svolvær
before boarding the very comfortable catamaran,
the MS Alba, at 09.15. We head out into the
Vestfjord, the waters between Lofoten and the
mainland, where you find the largest
concentration of Killer whales in the world,
attracted by giant shoals of herring.
Lunch is served on board which is included,
along with coffee, tea and hot chocolate. You
will also be issued with warm overalls for the
entire journey. On our return journey, weather
permitting, we can gaze upon the flickering and
dancing Northern Lights. The Orca safari ends in
early afternoon in Svolvær.

Day 7 Fri SVOLVAER -
OSLO (B)
After breakfast at your
hotel, board your private coach for your early
transfer to Svolvær airport for your flight to
Oslo via Bodø. On arrival at Oslo Gardermoen
Airport, we depart by private coach for combined
transfer and city sightseeing tour. We will
enjoy a magnificent view of the Oslo Fjord from
Holmenkollen Hill, with the famous ski jumps
where the Winter Games were held in 1952. Among
other highlights, we will visit the Viking Ship
Museum, with its three Viking vessels. The
Vigeland’s Park, one of the major Scandinavian
cultural treasures, will welcome us with the
sculptures of Gustav Vigeland, who dedicated his
life to his artistic works. We will also pass by
the Royal Palace and the main street, Karl
Johan. The tour ends at your hotel for check-in.

Day 8 Sat OSLO DEPARTURE (B)
Tour concludes after breakfast at the hotel.
Individual transfer to Oslo Gardermoen airport.
