LUOSTO ALPINE CENTER

PYHÄ-LUOSTO - THE JEWELS OF LAPLAND
Pyhä-Luosto is one whole area that is comprised of two fell resorts in the middle of Finnish Lapland (only 90 min.

from the Arctic Circle and 3 hours from the Sampo Ice-Breaker) with excellent facilities and well organized

activity services. Modern hotels, spa facilities, cozy log cabins, well groomed downhill and cross country ski

slopes and tracks, outdoor fun and adventure rounded off with fine wine and cuisine, all combine to ensure

 a successful holiday.

At Pyhä-Luosto, you can be active all year round. The winter in Pyhä-Luosto offers skiing, visits to Pyhä-Luosto Husky

and Reindeer Park and the Amethyst Mine (the only one in whole Europe which welcomes visitors), snowmobile,

reindeer and husky safaris in the snowy forest and snowshoe hikes to the untouched fell slopes. All of these and many

more wonderful experiences which soon transport you away from routine of daily life.

Luosto’s slope services are especially well-suited for families and for friends of relaxed downhill skiing. Slope

activities are conveniently centered near the slope restaurant. In the beginning of the season, most activities take

place at the Kanda and Family Lifts’ slope areas. Kanda Swing provides the skier with a long descent - almost one

and a half kilometers amidst exquisite scenery. The Street and children’s sled hill are both visible from the slope

restaurant. During family weeks, several activities take place at the Kanda Slope. The Competition and Sun Slopes

provide more difficult skiing routes. At the lower station of the Sun Lift, you can enjoy your own picnic lunch at the

Nunnuka Laplander’s Hut. Luosto’s professionally trained and experienced staff ensures the safety of skiers and the

 availability of high-quality services.

The trails of Luosto and Pyhä are connected to each other. A day trip from one hill to another is a nice experience for

the seasoned skier. A large number of the managed trails are suitable for both traditional and skating-style skiing.

There are 170 km of managed tracks at Pyhä-Luosto, 40 km of which are lit. In addition to technical issues, track

planning also took landscape views into account. During the skiing trip you will be able to enjoy the best parts of the

natural surroundings. At the "arms" of the tracks, there are nice cafés and other resting places at suitable intervals.

A small rest and suitable snack add a nice relaxed touch to the experience.

The ten slopes of Pyhä present a challenge to everyone, but Northern slopes offer a variety for less experienced

skiers also. Pyhä has invested heavily in artificial snowmaking facilities. The slopes are prepared during the summer

time, and no rocks are left on the ground. This means you can enjoy exceptionally well groomed slopes at Pyhä.

In Finnish standards our runs are demanding, so Pyhä has an established reputation for being the meeting place for

 ski enthusiasts in Finland.
