* THE STORY OF
THE YULE LADS
Gryla and
Leppaludi have always lived in Ludentsborgir in
Myvatnssveit, and this is where they brought up their
thirteen Yule Lads. As the lads grew up, things began to
feel rather cramped at home and they started to want places
of their own. So Gryla and Leppaludi decided to go in search
of new lands and find a new home for their offspring. They
looked all over the world – to Finland, Greenland, and even
further. But in the end what the lads wanted most was to be
close to mummy and daddy, and Dimmuborgir was the perfect
place for them to settle down.
Ever since then the Yule Lads have lived at Dimmuborgir and
been very happy with their view over beautiful Myvatnssveit.
To start with, the Yule Lads were quite a handful, annoying
the people round about and playing tricks on them, but in
the end they calmed down and now they are the best of
friends to all children.
