Day 1 ARRIVAL IN SAARISELKÄ

Transfer from Ivalo airport to Saariselkä
Holiday Resort by private car and local English
speaking guide. Check-in and overnight.

Day 2 SAARISELKÄ (B)
Tuesday, 30 December
Discover the winter beauty of the surrounding
fell area on a two-hour snowmobile safari, with
coffee break around an open fire. The rest of
the day is yours to take advantage of the great
opportunities that Saariselkä offers for sports
and recreation.

Day 3 HUSKY SAFARI - NEW YEARS EVE (B, D)
Wednesday, 31 January
Dressed in thermal outfit you will be
transferred to the starting point of a 4-hour
husky safari.
Start the day by making acquaintance with the
nice and friendly huskies, and take a ride
through the forests and over the fells in a
sledge pulled by a team of these well-trained
and strong dogs.
Can you imagine a more exciting way to
experience the overwhelming peace and silence of
the arctic wilderness! Two persons are sharing
the sledge of a husky-team, one sitting the
other steering. During the safari places will be
swapped. Lunch is served around an open fire.
After a special New Year's dinner, which is
served at the hotel, you can try a Finnish
method of fortune-telling to find out what the
new year will hold in store for you and view the
midnight. At the restaurant of the hotel there
is an orchestra playing and you can dance until
early hours of the New Year.

Day 4 SAARISELKÄ - REINDEER FARM (B)
Thursday, 1 January
The Saariselkä region is
the centre of the Sami life in Lapland. On your
3-hour visit to a local reindeer farm by
snowmobiles you will have the chance to learn
more about Lapland's indigenous people, their
culture and heritage, and reindeer herding. You
will also learn how to throw a Lapp lasso and
drive a reindeer-pulled sledge. Coffee break
included.

Day 5 DEPARTURE (B)
Friday, 2 January
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer by private car
from hotel in Saariselkä to Ivalo airport.
