GEILO SNOW PARKS

PREMIER SNOWBOARD DESTINATION NORWAY

Geilo Ski Center panorama

SNOW PARKS

Norway's best Superpipe without question, a boardercross run, which you just HAVE TO experience; fantastic kite opportunities, nightlife....

Geilo has almost everything you need to make your skiing holiday live up to expectations. Whether you have never snowboarded before, have some experience or are a diehard snowboarder, you will always find something to suit you.

There are three snow parks at Geilo, jumps of all degrees of difficulty and last but not least - Norway's wickedest superpipe. The area at Havsdalen is suitable for beginners, while the areas at Fugleleiken and Geilolia Ski Center are for those looking for greater challenges on steeper slopes. We can also tempt you with new rails and improved jumps.

Snowboarder GeiloFugleleiken Snow Park

Fugleleiken Snow Park is situated on the western edge Geilosiden. The park has two parallel courses, with a 4-seater chair lift.

The park has been designed and created in collaboration with the Snowboard department at NTG. One of the runs consists of a hip / quarter pipe, a 20-meter plateau jump and a super pipe. The super pipe is without question Norway's best with standard measurements of 5.5 meters in height and 130 meters in length. It is reshaped twice a week.

Geilo has been awarded the National Snowboard Championship every second year because of this pipe. A smaller pipe (3.5 meters in height) is also planned this season at Fugleleiken, which will make it possible to ride 2 pipes in one run. The other run will be renewed this year. It will consist of a line with 4 jumps, (10-15 meters), and a line with 6 rails (flat/down rail, rainbow rail, battleship rail, 8-metre flat rail, 4-metre flat rail (new), double down rail (new) ).

Test yourself on the big jump, fun box and border cross, or try the country’s only super-pipe in Norway’s best snowboard park. You can do a board slide on the rail, and the Volkswagen beetle on the slope is ready for a nose & tail bunk.

Snow Park - Geilolia Ski Center
Turn left when you get off the chair lift to enter the park. The Snow Park at Geilolia Ski Center is designed as a ”slope style”, with a line consisting of many different elements. The first National Snowboard Championships "slope style" was held here in 2005, and all the snowboarders from beginners to professionals were delighted with the course.
New this year are a floodlit mogul run, big jump and rail park.

The snow park starts with two jumps of 10-15 meters one after the other, then splits into two runs. The run to the right is the "slope style", which starts with two flat rails. Then come three 10-15 meter jumps. The snow park concludes with another 8-meter flat/down rail box.

The run to the left is the ”Boardercross” which consists of 6 vertical dips made with the pipe cutter. The Boarder cross is used during the National Snowboard Championships and Norwegian cup meetings, and is considered the fastest, most challenging and best Boardercross run in Norway. The run has the same finish as the slope style.

The park has been designed and is maintained in cooperation with NTG snowboard. Geilolia Ski Center prepares the runs in the morning, so that you will still enjoy a soft landing on cold winter mornings.

Welcome to one of the best and hottest jib and snowboard arenas in Norway!

Snow Park -  Havsdalen
The snow park at Havsdalen is suitable for beginners or those looking for a relatively easy area to practice in. The park has 1 half pipe, 2 pipe rails, 1 fun box and 2 jumps on which you can practice your skills.

CHILDRENChildren at play

Geilo will focus even more regarding new concepts for children in the ski area next season. Participate in Winter Fantasy, different activities and events or play with other children in one of Geilo's kindergartens.

The children love Geilo! Geilo is recognized to be a children’s paradise! You will find activities especially for children of all ages, both summer and winter, outdoors and indoors. The largest hotels have children’s play rooms and swimming pools.

The ski centers have children areas where the kids can ski and play in safe environments. Here you can try tobogganing, treasure hunting, ski orienteering or improve your skills at one of the ski schools that Geilo offers. Young children under the age of 6 years get free ski passes. Children snowboardersThe Troll Club at the Vestlia Ski Centre, has its own ski lift and play area for children as well as an indoor kindergarten. Parents can enjoy a few hours on their own on the slopes while the children are having fun playing and are well looked after by qualified staff. Children with little skiing experience can safely use many of the green and blue beginner runs and children up to 7 years of age ski free on the lifts in Geilo. All children are encouraged to use a helmet, which they can borrow free of charge!

Troll Club is the children's skiing area Trollklubben, near the bottom of Geilolia Ski Resort. This is a very popular skiing area and playground throughout the winter.
Here you can find:
Easy slopes for beginners, with funny figures for the children
Ski lift for children, with staff helping to get on the lift
A slope in the forest with figures of different Trolls
An adventure cabin where the children can listen to fairy-tales in 3 different languages
A canvas tent with barbeque. Here you can meet Mother Troll and play together with her

PinkPark
The cycling park, PinkPark, can be summed up in one word - fun! Take the Geiloheisen ski lift up, it only takes 5 minutes, and be impressed by the 1,600 meter-long free ride run with large dips, table tops, jumps, drops and wall rides. On the HeXe run you will find Scandinavia’s longest North Shore, and at the bottom of the facility you will find a very good 4x track. The cycling park has challenges to suit all levels.

Non Skier

For the non-skier there are ample opportunities to take part in winter activities such as dog- or reindeer sledding, horse drawn sleight, snowmobile safari or drive on a racetrack. In addition there are in-door activities such as luxurious spa and health treatments, visiting museums and great possibilities for shopping. If traveling in a group, small or large, we can make programs specially suited the groups needs and desires.

Traditional hotels, shops, restaurants and pubs in the town centre give the village an ‘alpine town’ look.  You can choose between a range of different accommodations such as hotels in different price categories, cabins, apartments, bed and breakfast, and hostels l located both in and outside the town centre.
