Eduard Grieg's Bergen, the colorful houses in
the harbour and the bustling fish market are
highlights of Norway's second largest city,
founded in 1070.
Be inspired by Østerlars Round
Church on the Danish Island of Bornholm, dating
back to the 12th century, a place of worship and
for protection against enemies from the sea.
Experience the Skagen area, where Kattegat and
Skagerrak meet at Grenen. The region is
extremely picturesque and closely associated
with the Skagen Painters, an artist colony, who
flocked to this area in the late 1800s.
The
northernmost point of the cruise is Trondheim,
the first capital of Norway. Trondheim holds a
special place in Norwegian history and culture;
in the Nidaros Cathedral the Kings still receive
their ceremonial blessing. Today Trondheim is a
major technology centre for research and
education. A town where past and present meet.
